Krogulec (1001 m a.s.l.) is one of those quietly rewarding summits in the Izera Mountains that hides itself beneath a dense spruce canopy, offering wild forest solitude and a rugged granite character rather than sweeping panoramas. A compact rock formation crowns the top, sharing the peak's name.

The massif is broad and gently shaped, with a barely-defined summit point — hiking here feels more like a peaceful immersion in deep woodland than a classic peak conquest. The western slope drops steeply toward the Izera valley, while the eastern side is almost flat, giving the terrain an interesting asymmetry. Just below the summit on the western flank you'll find the Pelikan rock group, a rewarding secondary feature worth seeking out. Clouds and mist frequently wrap around the peak, lending it a moody, almost mystical feel — especially beautiful in autumn.

• Jakuszyce (approx. 2.7 km to the southeast) — no marked trail leads directly to the top; the red M. Orłowicz trail from Świeradów-Zdrój passes the southern slope about 0.8 km from the summit — moderate difficulty
• From Rozdroże pod Cichą Równią — gentle forested northern slope — easy approach

• No marked hiking trails lead to the actual summit — reaching the top requires leaving the trail and walking through forest
• The northwest slope is the source area for tributaries of the Izera river

The entire massif is built from porphyritic Karkonosze granite formed during the Carboniferous period — the same rock that shapes the summit crags and the nearby Pelikan formation.
