Kozi Grzbiet is a modest but distinctive peak in the Izera Mountains, easily recognisable thanks to its dome-shaped silhouette and a cluster of granite rock blocks at the summit — the Kozie Skały, once protected as a natural monument until 1945. It's a spot for hikers who prefer solitude over crowded trails.

The summit juts southward from a side arm of the High Ridge and is entirely covered in spruce forest, giving it a wild, woodland atmosphere in every season. The western slope drops steeply toward the Izera valley, while the eastern slope descends gently toward the Mielnica valley, and to the south a small saddle separates it from the neighbouring Tkacka Góra. In winter the area is remarkably quiet and snow-covered, while in summer the forest offers welcome shade for hikers.

• No marked hiking trails lead directly to the summit — reaching it requires off-trail hiking, recommended for experienced hikers only
• The green trail runs along the eastern slope below the summit, connecting Orle with the former settlement of Tkacze (now part of Harrachov in the Czech Republic)

• No marked paths to the top — good navigation skills are needed
• The historic Old Customs Road (Stara Droga Celna) runs along the eastern slope, once linking glassworks in Biała Dolina, Orle and Harrachov
• Close to the Czech border — surrounding areas belonged to Poland until 1958, when parts were transferred to Czechoslovakia

Fun fact: the German name of the peak, Ziegenkamm, literally means 'Goat's Ridge' — and the Kozie Skały at the top, though no longer officially a protected monument, still impress visitors with their size and shape.
