Kowalówka is a quiet, fully forested peak in the Kamienica Ridge of the Izera Mountains — a great pick for hikers who want a peaceful walk away from the crowds, wrapped in the deep woods of the Western Sudetes.
The mountain sits in the middle part of the ridge, on a side spur branching northeast from Kamienica, connecting to Tłoczyna in the north and Świerczek in the east. The entire massif is covered in forest, so there are no sweeping viewpoints here — instead, it's a destination for those who love woodland trails, offering a distinct, calming mood in every season: cool shade in summer, colorful foliage in autumn, and snowy silence in winter. The terrain is gentle, typical of the Izera ridges, built of gneiss from the Izera metamorphic complex.
How to reach the summit
Kowalówka is one of those understated Izera peaks worth visiting simply for the tranquility of the walk itself — no crowds, just genuine Sudeten forest atmosphere.
