Koprowy Wierch (2,367 m a.s.l.) is one of those High Tatra peaks that genuinely surprises you — it offers sweeping, spectacular panoramas while remaining accessible via a marked hiking trail. Located in the Slovak part of the High Tatras, it is a fantastic choice for hikers who want the full high-alpine experience without technical climbing.

The summit actually has two tops, roughly 150 m apart, separated by a broad saddle at around 2,340 m. The eastern top is the higher of the two and acts as the keystone for all the ridges radiating from here. Its eastern walls plunge down toward the Hińczowa Valley, while the western and northern flanks overlook the branching arms of the Koprová Valley. The terrain is classic high-alpine — rock, scree and sweeping ridgelines. On a clear autumn day the view from the top is among the finest in the entire High Tatras.

All routes pass through Vyšné Kôprovské Sedlo — the natural gateway to the summit. The route from Štrbské Pleso is the most popular, with the shortest ascent and least elevation gain (1,127 m).

• The ridge traverse via Pośredni Wierszyk is restricted by TANAP regulations to registered alpine club members only — it is not open to general tourists.
• Climbing routes on the northern and eastern walls are for experienced alpinists only and require appropriate skills and equipment.

The Polish poet Kazimierz Tetmajer was a regular visitor to this summit between 1881 and 1896, and the first winter ascent was made on 18 March 1906 — giving the mountain a quietly literary and historical character.
