Kopica (803 m a.s.l.) is a charming summit in the Suche Mountains of the Central Sudetes, hiding a special treat for hikers — the Polish-Czech state border runs right across its top. That alone makes it a unique destination where a single hike takes you through two countries at once.

Situated southeast of the small town of Sokołowsko, Kopica sits at the junction of several lateral ridges, giving it a prominent role in the local landscape. The slopes are largely covered with spruce monoculture, though pockets of mixed and deciduous forest add variety to the scenery. The Polish side of the summit falls within the Wałbrzych Sudetes Landscape Park, while the Czech side is part of the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area — two protected zones meeting at one peak.

• The state border with the Czech Republic crosses the summit — free crossing within the Schengen Area.
• The green border trail connects Tłumaczów with Przełęcz Okraj (Okraj Pass), making Kopica a convenient waypoint on longer ridge hikes.
• The Polish side is protected as part of the Wałbrzych Sudetes Landscape Park; the Czech side belongs to CHKO Broumovsko.

The mountain is built from Permian porphyries and rhyolitic tuffs belonging to the northern wing of the Intra-Sudetic Basin — the rocks beneath your boots are hundreds of millions of years old.
