Kopa is a modest yet charming peak in the heart of the Gorce Mountains, famous for its scenic meadow and the true wilderness atmosphere of this part of Poland. If you're after panoramic views without the crowds found on Turbacz or Kudłoń, this is the summit for you.

The mountain's name comes from the dome-like (kopa) shape of its summit. The whole peak is covered in forest, except for the top and the south-eastern slope, where an open, scenic meadow called Kopa offers lovely views over the Beskid Wyspowy range and the central Gorce Mountains. The eastern slopes descend into the valley of the Potok za Palarzem stream, while the western slopes drop toward the Konina stream valley, where you'll find the interesting Krowiarki rock formation. In spring and summer the meadow bursts with greenery and birdsong, in autumn the forest glows with color, and in winter it offers peaceful, snow-covered solitude.

• Konina – via Cyrla Hanulowa to Kopa — approx. 2 hours (part of the route to Kudłoń), moderate difficulty
• The trail continues via Figurki Niżne, Figurki Średnie, Figurki and Pustak up to Kudłoń — total distance 4.5 km, total ascent 610 m

• The summit lies within Gorce National Park — nature protection rules apply and an entrance fee may be required
• A large information board set up by the national park stands at the summit, showing a panoramic view and describing the surrounding peaks
• Near the trail stands a decaying, historic shepherd's hut with a rare four-slope roof, once typical of the old huts of the Zagórzanie people

That old shepherd's hut is what makes Kopa truly special — a living trace of the pastoral culture of the Zagórzanie, who have inhabited this part of the Gorce Mountains for centuries.
