Kiczora Kamienicka (1003 m a.s.l.) is a peaceful, forested summit in the Gorce range of the Polish Carpathians, surrounded on three sides by the Kamienica river — giving it a distinctive island-like character. A tall transmission mast rising above the treetops makes the peak easy to spot from a distance. The slopes are mostly covered in dense forest, but the southern and eastern sides reveal charming hamlets belonging to the village of Szczawa — Podkiczory, Szałasie, Faronówki and Polanki — nestled between the trees and meadows. In winter the area is blanketed in snow and beautifully silent; in spring the forests come alive with birdsong. Every stream flowing from the peak eventually finds its way into the encircling Kamienica river.

The name 'Kiczora' comes from Wallachian (Vlach) shepherds' language, where it described a mountain whose summit is covered in forest — a description that still fits perfectly today.
