Kamiennik Północny (785 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forest-clad peak in the Lubomir and Łysina Ridge that rewards curious visitors rather than view-seekers. It is a place where geology takes centre stage and the forest keeps its own unhurried pace.

Most of the summit is covered in dense woodland, so sweeping panoramas are not what draws people here. Where logging clearings have opened up the canopy, northward views do appear as a pleasant bonus. The massif pairs with its taller neighbour Kamiennik Południowy (827 m) and connects to the main ridge via Przełęcz Sucha pass (708 m). The terrain shifts dramatically from steep sandstone cliffs on the northern and eastern flanks to gentle marl-and-shale foothills below — a textbook tectonic boundary you can follow on foot. Autumn colours the forest beautifully, while winter brings solitude and silence.

• The disused 'Nad Piekłem' quarry lies along the green trail and features exposed rock faces worth a closer look.
• Three small caves have been discovered near the summit: Porębska Koleba (2001), Jaskinia pod Zębem and Schronisko Andrzejkowe (both 2003) — vertical fissure caves suitable only for experienced cavers.
• The yellow trail continues onward to Kamiennik Południowy and Łysina; the green trail leads to the PTTK mountain hut on Kudłacze.

Few places in the Beskid Wyspowy let you trace a tectonic thrust boundary so clearly with your own eyes — the sharp escarpment edge running along the hillside is a direct imprint of ancient mountain-building forces.
