Jaworowa Kopa is a modest but distinctive summit tucked away in the Slovak Western Tatras, rising on a short side ridge branching off from Suchý vrch Kondratowa. It's a spot for hikers craving genuine Tatra wilderness far from the crowded main trails.

The peak sits between two saddles - Wyżnie Jaworowe Siodło and Niżnie Jaworowe Siodło - and offers a striking contrast between its gentle western slopes, covered in dwarf mountain pine, and the dramatically steep eastern slopes plunging into the Wielki Żleb Kondracki, partly stripped bare by avalanches. These slopes reach gradients of around 40 degrees, giving the area a raw, rugged mountain character. In summer, the greenery of dwarf pine and grasses surrounds the summit, while in winter the terrain becomes hazardous due to avalanche risk.

How to reach the summit

• Jaworowa Kopa has no marked tourist trail leading directly to the top - it's mainly accessible to experienced mountaineers and backcountry hikers familiar with the Western Tatras terrain
• The closest approach follows the surrounding ridges from Suchý vrch Kondratowa or the Dolina Cicha valley

Practical information

• The terrain requires strong navigation skills and mountain experience - there are no marked paths to the summit itself
• The eastern slopes are prone to avalanches, especially in winter and early spring
