Javorový (1,032 m a.s.l.) is a bold, northward-reaching ridge in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, rising above the steel town of Třinec. It blends genuine mountain atmosphere with practical tourist infrastructure, making it a rewarding destination in every season.

The mountain is cloaked in spruce forest with beech mixing in at lower elevations, and the trails reward you with open views across the Olza valley and surrounding Beskid ridges. The main summit is quiet and wild, but about 1.5 km to the east lies the sub-summit Malý Javorový (948 m) — the lively hub of the area. There you will find a tourist chalet, mountain rescue station, ski slopes, a TV relay station and a large metal cross visible from afar. In winter the place buzzes with skiers; in summer it serves as a perfect base for exploring roughly 25 km of cross-country trails through the forest.

• A chairlift runs from Oldřichovice up to the Malý Javorový area — a convenient option for families or those who prefer a gentler approach.
• A mountain rescue (Horská služba) station is located at the chalet on Malý Javorový.
• The peak lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Beskydy).
• The Gutské peklo nature reserve is approximately 400 m northeast of the summit.

The forests here carry an interesting scar from the past: in the 1980s the entire northern slope had to be clear-felled after pollution from the nearby Třinec Ironworks devastated the tree cover. After the steelworks were desulphurised, the forest gradually recovered — a quiet but hopeful comeback story written in every spruce growing there today.
