Javorina (1,328 m a.s.l.) sits at the heart of the Veľká Fatra range in central Slovakia, offering sweeping mountain views from a partly open summit that feels genuinely wild and unspoilt. It is the kind of peak that rewards those willing to approach it on the range's own terms — along the ridge, with the landscape unfolding around every bend.

The summit marks the southern end of the Turiec branch of the main Veľká Fatra ridge, roughly 16 km south-east of Martin. Its western slopes drop into the Belianska valley, while the eastern flanks descend toward the Ľubochnianska valley. The southern and eastern parts of the summit ridge are open mountain meadows, giving way to continuous forest on the northern slopes — a contrast that makes the hill feel spacious even at modest altitude. On a clear day the views stretch across virtually all of Malá Fatra, parts of the Nízke Tatry ridge (especially the Prašivá massif and Chabenec area), Kubínska hoľa, Veľký Choč, and occasionally as far as Babia hora and Pilsko on the Slovak–Polish border.

Javorina stands just about 2 km north of Plošká, the peak where the Turiec and Liptov branches of the main ridge converge — making this quiet summit a surprisingly pivotal point in the geography of Veľká Fatra.
