Jasień (1,063 m a.s.l.) is the third highest peak in the Beskid Wyspowy range — a wonderfully wild corner of the Polish Carpathians where open meadows offer sweeping views and the forest hides some of the most untamed terrain in the region. It may not top the charts, but it more than earns its place on any hiking itinerary.

The massif features two summits: the main peak at 1,063 m and Kutryca (1,051 m) to the north, with the scenic Skalne clearing sitting between them — complete with one of the few surviving shepherd's huts in the entire Beskid Wyspowy. From Skalne you can take in Mogielica, Cichoń, Ostra, Modyń, and on a clear day even the Gorce and Pieniny ranges. The Łąki meadow along the green trail opens up a different panorama toward Beskid Makowski and the western peaks of Beskid Wyspowy. In spring the clearings burst into colour with crocuses and snowdrops, making Jasień one of the very few places in the range where these flowers still bloom. The steep north-eastern slopes, cut by deep ravines, remain genuinely wild and rarely visited.

• Rocky outcrops along the ridge can release small avalanches in winter — exercise caution outside summer.
• The Skalne clearing has a shepherd's hut, a rare sight in Beskid Wyspowy.
• The summit ridge forms a watershed between the Dunajec and Raba river basins.

Jasień is one of the last refuges of wild crocuses in the Beskid Wyspowy — if you can visit in early spring, the blooming meadows alone make the climb unforgettable.
