Horná lúka (1299 m a.s.l.) is a broad, tranquil summit in the western — or 'Lúčanská' — part of the Malá Fatra mountains in Slovakia. It rewards visitors with open meadows, quiet forest trails, and a genuine ridgeline feel without the crowds of more famous peaks.

The summit area is notably flat and wide, stretching along the main ridge as well as a long spur running southeast. Expansive former pastures cover the top and the eastern slopes dropping towards the Bystričianska Valley, offering pleasant open views. In summer the green alpine meadows contrast beautifully with the surrounding forests; in autumn the slopes glow with colour. On the eastern flank, at around 1240 m a.s.l., you can find an old spring and the remnants of a shepherd's hut — a quiet reminder of the area's pastoral history.

• From Strečno via Martinské hole — red trail, running along the main ridge all the way to Kľak peak. Difficulty: moderate.
• From Bystričká in the Turčianska Basin — green trail, following a long ridge through Ostré (1139 m) and Končiar (1164 m) to the summit, then descending into the Svitačová Valley on the western side. Difficulty: moderate.

• Horná lúka is a junction summit where two marked trails meet, making it easy to plan loop or traverse routes.
• About 500 m along the southeast spur from the junction point, the ridge reaches its local high point of approx. 1325 m a.s.l.

The old shepherd's hut ruins and spring on the eastern slope are charming relics of a time when these meadows were alive with grazing activity — a lovely spot to pause and soak in the mountain atmosphere.
