Hińczowa Turnia (2372 m a.s.l.) is a striking, almost rectangular peak in the Volí chrbát ridge of the High Tatras, sitting right on the Polish-Slovak border. With sheer walls, a dramatic northern face and superb views over the Hińczowe Lakes, this is a destination that rewards experienced climbers with an unforgettable alpine experience.

The peak is framed by the Czarnostawiańska Pass to the west and Hińczowa Szczerbina to the east. Its northern wall drops a full 230 metres into the Wyżni Czarnostawiański Cirque, while the southern face plunges towards the Hińczová Valley on the Slovak side. The summit ridge is remarkably flat and level, giving the peak its distinctive blocky, rectangular profile — quite unlike the sharp spires typical of this part of the Tatras. In summer the pale granite glows in the sun; in winter the entire ridge becomes a serious alpine undertaking under snow and ice.

• The summit lies on the Polish-Slovak border — appropriate climbing permits and skills are required.
• The peak is not accessible to regular hikers; rock-climbing ability is necessary.
• A natural rock window on the northern face, formed after a rockfall in 1966, is visible from the Hińczová Valley and from the main ridge.

The first recorded summer ascent was made on 30 July 1903 by Karol Englisch and Johann Hunsdorfer — a piece of early Tatra climbing history that adds an extra layer of character to this already compelling peak.
