Haľamova kopa (1344 m a.s.l.) is one of those rare summits that keeps itself hidden from the crowds — no marked trails, no signposts, just raw and untouched nature in the heart of the Slovak Veľká Fatra mountains.

Located in the so-called Turiec section of the Veľká Fatra, the peak is built from limestone, which gives it a dramatic character. Dense forest covers the slopes, but large limestone cliffs and rock walls break through the canopy — most spectacularly on the south-western flanks. To the north-east the terrain drops into the Padva valley, while the western ridge neatly separates the Rakytovská valley from the Mohošová valley. In summer a deep forest silence reigns here; autumn sets the woods ablaze with colour; and in winter a thick blanket of snow turns this corner of the mountains into a truly remote wilderness.

• No marked hiking trail crosses Haľamova kopa — access is possible only through the surrounding valleys (Padva, Rakytovská, Mohošová) and is suitable exclusively for experienced off-trail hikers.

• Haľamova kopa falls under strict protection within Veľká Fatra National Park — its slopes are shared by three nature reserves: Tlstá, Padva and Veľká Skalná.
