Hájny grúň (1,208 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forest-covered summit in the northern part of the Poľana massif in central Slovakia — perfect for hikers looking for peaceful ridge walking far from the crowds. It sits roughly 15 km south-west of Brezno and forms part of the Poľana Protected Landscape Area.

The summit itself is largely wooded, so views are limited right at the top — but from well-placed spots along the ridge you can take in the surrounding hills of Poľana and the Veporské vrchy. On a clear day the long ridge of the Low Tatras stretches across the horizon, along with the Starohorské vrchy, Veľká Fatra and the Kremnické vrchy; to the east, Fabova hoľa and Klenovský Vepor dominate the scene. On exceptionally clear days, the peaks of the High Tatras appear above the Low Tatra ridge in the north — a rewarding surprise. The peak sits on a ridge running northward from the caldera of an ancient stratovolcano, giving the whole area a fascinating geological backstory. In autumn the beech forests glow with gold and amber, while in winter the trails double as popular cross-country ski routes.
