Groniczek is a modest but atmospheric peak in the Beskid Mały range, best known for the nearby Witches' Rock (Skała Czarownic) - a place where wild nature meets local legend. It's a great destination for hikers who enjoy a mix of quiet trails and folklore-rich landscapes near Łodygowice.

The slopes of Groniczek descend in three directions - towards the Wieśnik stream, towards the buildings of Łodygowice, and towards the Bartoszowiec stream valley, giving the area varied terrain and views. On the northwestern slopes lies a cluster of rocks covered in rich rock-dwelling flora, including protected species like clubmoss varieties. The atmosphere here is especially striking on misty mornings or in the golden light of autumn, when old tales of robbers and hidden treasure feel almost believable.

How to reach the summit

• No marked tourist trail leads directly to the summit of Groniczek, so reaching the very top requires some independent navigation.
• The Witches' Rock nearby can be visited via the Harnaś Rogacz Trail, which runs through Wilkowice, Rogacz, Magurka Wilkowicka, and the Wietrzna Dziura cave.

According to one legend, the Witches' Rock served as a hideout for the robber Wojciech Bulok and his two herbalist accomplices, who plundered nearby churches and buried treasure close by. Another tale claims the rock was dropped by the devil, who intended to destroy a nearby church with it.
