The High Tatra Ridge is one of the most spectacular mountain features in Central Europe — a 32-kilometre main ridge stretching from Liliowe Pass all the way to Przelecz pod Kopą. It forms the very backbone of the High Tatras, connecting the highest summits, dramatic cols and legendary rock towers into one continuous chain.

The landscape along this ridge is breathtaking in every season. In summer, jagged rocky peaks contrast with the deep blue of Tatra lakes shimmering far below in the valleys, and the views stretch far beyond the Polish-Slovak border. Autumn wraps the crags in mysterious mist, while the first snows arrive as early as September. In winter, the ridge becomes the realm of experienced alpinists — coated in ice and snow, it demands serious technical skills and equipment.

• Łysa Polana / Morskie Oko — approach to the Rysy area (central section of the ridge) — red and blue trails, approx. 3–4 h, demanding

• The ridge runs partly through Tatra National Park (Polish side) and TANAP (Slovak side) — separate entry regulations apply on each side.
• Much of the main ridge is accessible only to mountaineers with proper technical equipment — it is not a tourist trail in its entirety.
