Gorc (1,228 m a.s.l.) is one of the most distinctive peaks in the Gorce range — its silhouette, dotted with open clearings, is recognisable from miles away, and a modern observation tower built in 2015 makes the panoramic views accessible to everyone, including those with a fear of heights. It marks the easternmost point of Gorce National Park and serves as a key junction for several ridges and valleys.

The meadows just below the summit — Gorc Gorcowski, Gorc Młynieński and Gorc Kamienicki — offer sweeping views of the Beskid Wyspowy and Beskid Sądecki ranges, the Pieniny, and the Tatra mountains on the horizon. The 2015 observation tower features fully enclosed stairs and a viewing platform, making it comfortable for all visitors. A field altar on the Gorc Młynieński meadow adds a quiet, atmospheric stop to any route.

The name Gorc most likely derives from the old Polish word for 'burned out' — the meadows here were historically cleared by burning, a tradition written right into the landscape you walk through today.
