Gliegerkarspitze is a striking double-peaked section of the Bretterspitze's northwest ridge in the Allgäu Alps of North Tyrol, Austria. With a main summit of 2575 m and an eastern summit of 2551 m, it offers ridge walkers a rewarding, less crowded alternative to the more famous peaks nearby.

Although its low prominence means it's not classified as an independent mountain, it has all the look and feel of a true twin summit. The surrounding cirques of Urbeleskar and Gliegerkar give the area a wild, remote character, and the ridge views toward Bretterspitze and the rest of the Hornbachkette are among the finest in this part of the Allgäu Alps. Expect rocky, scree-covered terrain that demands attention but rewards with genuine high-alpine solitude.

• Hinterhornbach — about 2.5 hours to Kaufbeurer Haus, then follow the trail toward Bretterspitze; branch off to the right onto the ridge leading to the eastern summit (2551 m), scree and rocky terrain, moderate difficulty
• Ridge traverse from the eastern summit to the main Gliegerkarspitze summit — considerably harder and more exposed, UIAA grade I

• Base for the climb: Kaufbeurer Haus hut (2007 m) on the saddle of the Urbeleskar cirque
• Possible continuation along the ridge to Bretterspitze (about 45 minutes), including a short section rated UIAA II
• Basic scrambling skills and confidence on exposed terrain are required

The first recorded ascent of Gliegerkarspitze dates back to 1893, made by Chr. Wolff together with his mountain guide Friedle.
