Geißkopf (1,097 m) is one of the most welcoming peaks in the Bavarian Forest — a mountain that genuinely delivers something for everyone across all four seasons. Whether you hike up through quiet woodland or take the chairlift, a summit restaurant and a striking wooden observation tower are waiting at the top.

The peak sits close to the village of Bischofsmais in the Breitenau area, a gently rolling forested landscape shared with neighbouring ridges like Breitenauriegel and Einödriegel. In winter Geißkopf becomes a lively local ski resort with several lifts and nine runs; in summer it transforms into a mountain biking hub with a twelve-track bike park, and the chairlift happily carries your bike uphill for you. The 23-metre wooden observation tower at the summit rewards visitors with a sweeping panorama across the rear Bavarian Forest — on a clear day the view feels almost endless.
