Furkotské Solisko (2320 m a.s.l.) is a compact but characterful peak sitting on the Solisko Ridge in the High Tatras — a place that rewards those willing to go beyond the marked trails. Wedged between Malé Solisko and Štrbské Solisko, it offers a genuine taste of alpine Tatra wilderness.

The views from the ridge are superb: looking from the southeast, the Furkotná Valley drops away to the left while the Mlynická Valley unfolds to the right. The terrain is rocky and serious, with a true alpine feel throughout the seasons. In winter, snow and ice transform the ridge into a dramatic, uncompromising landscape that only experienced mountaineers venture into.

• There is no marked hiking trail to Furkotské Solisko. The summit can only be reached with a licensed mountain guide, or via climbing routes suited to experienced mountaineers.

• The peak lies within Tatra National Park — park regulations apply at all times.
• Ascent without a certified mountain guide is not permitted for regular tourists.

The name 'Solisko' traces back to a charming pastoral tradition — it refers to a spot at the base of the ridge where shepherds would leave salt out for their sheep and cattle. The peak was also long known as 'Döllerturm', honouring Anton Döller, a pioneering mountaineer of the Tatra region.
