Fereczata (1102 m a.s.l.) is a quietly rewarding summit in the Western Bieszczady range of Poland — a place where you can enjoy the wild character of these mountains without the crowds. It forms the highpoint of a lateral ridge running eastward from Okrąglik, tucked between two lovely valleys.

The northern slopes drop down towards the Bystre valley, while the southern side descends toward the Smerek valley. Both flanks are carved by numerous small stream gullies, giving the mountain a pleasantly varied terrain. A subsidiary ridge stretches to the southeast, culminating in Tambołów Roh (1030 m a.s.l.). In spring and summer the hillsides are lush and green; autumn transforms the forest into a breathtaking palette of reds and golds typical of the Bieszczady.

The name 'Fereczata' has Vlach origins, related to the Romanian word 'ferece' meaning fern — a linguistic echo of the Vlach shepherds who roamed these mountains centuries ago.
