Demänovská hora (1,304 m a.s.l.) is a quiet forested peak in the Low Tatras, tucked away just 6 km south of Liptovský Mikuláš. It offers a genuine escape into the mountains without the crowds that flock to more famous summits nearby.

The summit and ridge are blanketed in dense forest, giving the hike a peaceful, enclosed feel. From the more open spots along the ridge, you can enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding Low Tatras peaks, as well as the High Tatras, Western Tatras, Chočské vrchy, Oravská Magura, and both the Malá and Veľká Fatra ranges. In summer the trails are pleasantly shaded; in autumn the forest turns into a vivid canvas of gold and amber. This is a place to slow down and simply enjoy the mountain atmosphere.

• From Iľanovské sedlo via Magura — yellow marked trail, alternative approach; difficulty: moderate

• There is no marked trail to the very top — the yellow trail traverses the peak via its south-western slope and ends at the sub-summit (Demänovská Poludnica).
• The massif falls within the Low Tatras National Park.

Demänovská hora sits on a spur running north-west from Kráková hoľa (1,752 m), and its slopes drain into the Váh river basin — the western side via the Demänovka stream and the eastern side via the Iľanovianka brook.
