Czerszla is a forested peak in the western part of the Beskid Niski range, one of the highest summits in the Grybów Mountains and the Kozie Żebro–Czerszla ridge. It's a great pick for hikers who crave quiet forest trails away from the crowds while still bagging a notable summit.

The mountain is built of resistant Magura sandstones and covered in spruce-beech forest that gives it a wild, untamed character. Its western slopes drop steeply toward the Staszków Potok valley, the southern ones fall abruptly to the Czerwony Potok stream, and the northern slopes descend into an unnamed valley. Eastward, the ridge gently rises toward Kopiec. In summer the forest offers cool shade, autumn brings a stunning display of beech colors, and in winter the trails turn wonderfully quiet — perfect for those who love solitude in the woods.

How to reach the summit

• Nowy Sącz-Jamnica — yellow trail running along the ridge of the Kozie Żebro and Czerszla range, moderate difficulty
• Łabowa or Kotów — numerous unmarked paths lead up to the sub-summit area

Practical information

• The summit administratively belongs to the Kamionka Wielka commune, right on the border with Łabowa
• Don't confuse it with the neighboring Tokarnia (also known as Terepackie Wyżne) or with another peak of the same name, Czerszla (867.3 m), located nearby in the Jaworzyna range

Fun fact: sources list this peak under two names — Czerszla and Tokarnia — which can be confusing, since the area holds two more summits with strikingly similar names.
