Czerep (582 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forest-covered summit marking the southern tip of the Krzeszów Hills in the Central Sudetes of southwestern Poland. It may not be the tallest peak around, but it rewards visitors with peaceful spruce woodland, open meadows and a genuine sense of getting away from it all.

The summit and most of the ridge are blanketed in spruce forest, giving the area a calm, slightly mysterious feel. Lower down, meadows spread out to the east and west, offering glimpses of the surrounding hills. To the south, the slopes drop steeply toward the Kochanówka stream, which forms a natural boundary between the Krzeszów Hills and the neighbouring Zawory range. The area is particularly atmospheric in autumn, when golden meadow grass contrasts with the dark green of the conifers.

• From the Krzeszów area — follow the Krzeszów Hills ridge southward through the Żłób Pass, which connects Czerep with the unnamed 582 m knoll to the north. The terrain is gentle and the ascent is relaxed, suitable for walkers of all fitness levels.

• The peak sits within the Kamienna Valley (Kotlina Kamiennogórska) area — consider combining your hike with a visit to the famous Cistercian abbey in nearby Krzeszów, one of the finest Baroque complexes in Silesia.

The old German name for this hill was Todtenkopf — 'Dead Man's Head' — a dramatic title for what is in reality a thoroughly peaceful and welcoming place to spend an afternoon in the hills.
