Císařský kámen (637 m a.s.l.) is a forested summit on the edge of Liberec that packs a surprising amount into a modest elevation — imperial history, a striking conical silhouette visible from the city, and a viewing tower with sweeping 360° panoramas. It is one of the most accessible and rewarding half-day hikes in the Jizerské hory foothills.

The summit is blanketed in mixed forest dominated by 90–110-year-old spruce trees, creating cool shade in summer and a fairytale atmosphere when dusted with snow in winter. From the viewing tower, opened in September 2009, you can take in the southern slopes of the Jizerské hory, the distinctive ridge of Ještěd, the western Krkonoše mountains, and the urban panorama of Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou spread out below.

• Rochlice (Liberec) — green trail, approx. 6 km, passes Vesecký pond and climbs through the 'V roklinách' forest; steep final section — moderate/demanding
• Jeřmanice (south) — green trail, approx. 2 km, partly on tarmac through the hamlet of Milíře — easy
• Rádlo (south-east) — red trail, approx. 2 km, gentle ascent — easy
• Proseč nad Nisou (north) — red trail, approx. 2 km, traverses the slopes of Liščí kopec — easy
• Vratislavice nad Nisou — yellow trail, approx. 4.5 km, via restaurant Mojžíšův pramen and Liščí kopec — moderate

• A viewing tower stands at the summit, inaugurated on 19 September 2009.
• A commemorative plaque is carved directly into the granite rock at the very top, marking Emperor Joseph II's visit in 1778.
• The European watershed between the North Sea and Baltic Sea drainage basins runs through the hamlet of Milíře just below the summit.

The name 'Císařský kámen' — Emperor's Stone — dates from 1778, when Emperor Joseph II used this vantage point to oversee fortification works during the War of Bavarian Succession. Before that, locals simply called it Špičák or Uhlířský vrch.
