Čertova hora (1,023 m a.s.l.) is the westernmost 'thousander' in the Krkonoše mountains and the defining landmark rising steeply above the town of Harrachov. Whether you come in summer for the forest trails or in winter for the slopes, this peak rewards every visit with character and views.

The mountain is almost entirely cloaked in spruce forest, with steep flanks on nearly all sides — only to the southeast does the terrain ease off slightly, at a shallow saddle around 965 m. In summer the marked hiking paths cut through quiet woodland, and from the summit you can look out over Harrachov and the valleys of the Jizera and Mumlava rivers. Come winter, the mountain transforms into Skiareál Čertova hora, with five ski runs — including one black — all covered by snowmaking across their full length.

Harrachov is legendary in the ski-jumping world — the massive K-185 ski-flying hill built here in 1980 was at the time the tallest ski jump on Earth, and it still towers dramatically below the summit.
