Bukowinka is a modest peak in the Lubań Range, but it rewards hikers with a view that many taller mountains can't match — a sweeping panorama over the Spiš region, the Pieniny, the Levoča Mountains, the Spišská Magura and the Tatras. This is a summit worth visiting not for its height, but for what unfolds before your eyes once you get there.

Most of Bukowinka's slopes and the summit itself are forested, but just below the top, on the southern side, there's a small meadow that doesn't appear on any map. This is where the real view opens up — below you'll spot Lake Czorsztyn, often wrapped in morning mist, creating an unforgettable atmosphere at sunrise. In the upper part of the meadow, right under the summit, you can still find the concrete remains of an old triangulation tower and a survey marker — quiet traces of past geodetic work in the Gorce Mountains.

• Knurowska Pass — main trail (red, Main Beskid Trail), following a forest road that turns into a path, easy to moderate climb

• Bukowinka sits on the border between the villages of Ochotnica Górna and Knurów, in the Nowy Targ county
• The summit lies along the Main Beskid Trail section from Knurowska Pass to Lubań (13.7 km, 750 m total ascent, about 4 hours hiking time)
• The scenic meadow isn't marked on tourist maps, but it sits right next to the trail just below the summit

The Lubań Range once had as many as four triangulation towers — on Bukowinka, Runek, Lubań and Marszałek. Today only their foundations remain, but they're worth seeking out while wandering along this unassuming Gorce ridge.
