Bukowina Waksmundzka is a modest but wonderfully scenic peak in the Gorce Mountains that surprises hikers with a sweeping panorama at its summit. This treeless summit opens up into a wide viewing meadow, offering one of the finest vistas in this part of the range.

The summit is crowned by the Kowalowa Bukowina meadow — one of the largest high-altitude clearings in the Gorce Mountains. From its upper section, you get sweeping views of the Tatra Mountains, Magura Spiska, the Nowy Targ Basin, and the Pieniny with Lake Czorsztyn glistening below. The Łopuszna valley and the Kiczora ridge are also visible from here. In summer the meadow comes alive with grazing sheep and wildflowers, while in winter it transforms into a quiet, snow-covered expanse with the Tatras rising white on the horizon. The peak acts as a junction of three ridgelines, with its slopes descending into three separate valleys — Łopuszanka, Wielki Kowaniec, and Mały Kowaniec.

It's a wonderful destination for a peaceful, view-filled hike away from the crowds found on the main Gorce trails — a perfect resting point on the way to Turbacz.
