Tucked away on a quiet street in Zakopane, Villa 'Atma' is the only museum in the world dedicated entirely to the life and work of Karol Szymanowski, one of Poland's greatest composers. A visit here is a wonderfully intimate experience — part cultural journey, part step back in time to the vibrant interwar artistic scene of the Tatra region.

The wooden villa, built in 1895 in the distinctive Zakopane style, carries a warm and unhurried atmosphere year-round. In winter, dusted with snow, it looks like something from a fairy tale; in summer it offers a perfect cultural pause between mountain hikes. The carefully reconstructed composer's study, recreated from photographs and personal accounts, makes you feel as though Szymanowski has only just stepped out for a walk in the mountains.
